Let’s be honest for a second - life is WILD.
We’re born into a world that is fast-paced and full of expectations that make it really hard to cope at times. We all do the best we can to navigate it and find our own personal fulfillment. But it’s still HARD.
For me, this has led to feelings of extreme pressure and crippling anxiety to make sure I’m living up to what I believe people need and expect from me. I constantly think “am I doing this right? Is this the best step to take? Will this make everyone happy? What happens if I mess this up?”
My personal path isn’t anything newsworthy, but it’s definitely been a bumpy road. Childhood trauma, friendship and relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety conception stress and multiple miscarriages, and so much more that made my personal experience with life a wild ass ride. Just like I’m 100% positive your experiences have made yours the same.
The problem is, we don’t talk about it nearly as much as we should. There’s so much stigma and shame attached to the things that we ALL go through. And in today’s age of social media, we’re programmed to highlight the happy and sparkly parts of our lives while hiding the messy, painful, REAL parts.
So, that’s why I’m here now. To be honest about ALL of the pieces - the amazing, wonderful, exhausting, stressful, hilarious, gut-wrenching, excruciating, HUMAN parts of this thing we call life.
And I hope you join me!
MY NAME IS TYSHEENA - THOUGH (ALMOST) EVERYONE CALLS ME SHEENA.
I’m loud, goofy, sensitive, bubbly, addicted to all things pink and covered in sparkles, and obsessed with true crime. I laugh, A LOT, and love seeing other people do the same! I love me some Moscato, bubble baths or soaking in a hot tub, and reading when I find the right book (I’m probably a little too addicted to romance novels).
I’m a wife and mother, which surprises me more often than it probably should. My husband and I are so alike and equally so different in many ways. Our son is the absolute best thing I’ve ever done with my existence, and teaches me every day the importance of true patience (something I’ve struggled with for EVER).
I’m a licensed therapist (LCSW club, heeey!) specializing in assisting people with reducing anxiety, stress management, self-care, improving relationships, and navigating the wild ride of life. I’m also in therapy myself and have been for while now; therapy has helped me work through childhood trauma, anger issues, depression and anxiety, relationship difficulty, and daily stress - it’s still an every day battle, but much easier with the help that therapy has given me!
Most recently (as you can tell, since you’re here) I’ve decided to try this blogging thing. My only hope is to be able to make others feel seen, heard and validated in their own experiences because I know how important that is to me!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR VISITING!
